Geranium macrorrhizum 'Bevan's Variety'
 
 
Forming loose mounds of aromatic foliage that will help keep weeds at bay towards the front of a border. It is a versatile Geranium that is tolerant of shade, so can also be used to spill over the edges of an open woodland walkway. It is a sturdy low maintenance and has a long flowering season.
 
Astrantia  

Astrantias have become increasingly popular in recent years, and is a resilient and durable perennial. It is a cottage garden favourite, but will happily settle into any naturalistic planting scheme including prairie and Mediterranean style gardens. 

Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna'

 

Deep-purple flowers, that are appear on near-black stems added bold clumps of colour in the Mediterranean style garden. They will however work equally well in herbaceous border and gravel gardens, and the bees and butterflies will flock to it.
